Mason PI was launched by Retired FBI Special Agent, Jane Mason now a Private Investigator and Certified Forensic Interviewer.


Jane retired in 2014 after serving for 28 years in the FBI’s Kansas City and New York City offices. During her career at the FBI, Jane developed expertise in the field of white collar crime investigations and in the collection of forensic evidence. She now offers her exceptional skills to the private sector.

Examples of some of Jane’s criminal investigative experience include:

◎ The prosecution of the ringleaders of a group of mortgage fraudsters arrested as part of the national take down named Bad Deeds.

◎ The execution of a search warrant lasting 25 days that involved digging in a residential neighborhood to extract asbestos buried by the defendants.

◎ The prosecution of dozens of fraud cases involving insider schemes to embezzle money, fraud against the government, antitrust, financial institution, and insurance.

◎ The prosecution of the owners and managers of a PCB disposal company in Holden, Missouri that illegally disposed of PCB waste.

◎ The prosecution of a major utility for the cover-up of the release of asbestos during a deadly steam main explosion.

◎ The global prosecution of a major cruise line for the dumping of waste oil into U.S. waters.

Jane’s work has been recognized through the receipt of numerous awards and commendations by the FBI, the Department of Justice and other federal, state and local partners. She has held top-secret security clearances.

Jane is originally from Salem, Massachusetts but has resided in New Jersey for over 20 years. She attended St. John’s Preparatory School, Danvers, Massachusetts, an all-boys (with a few exceptions) high school, obtained an accounting degree from Babson College, Wellesley, Massachusetts and graduated summa cum laude with an MBA from Andrew Jackson University. Jane is a fitness athlete, a cancer survivor, and enjoys a round of backgammon with players of all levels.
